Imagine opening an app, and the first thing you see is

TEN MOUTHWATERING PANCAKE JOINTS

what else is there to look for, i dare you not to click it… Just like that it was decided, we were brunching Dojo style.

Dojo is pretty simple and oh so easy to use. Although i was pretty bummed to be replaced as the London food directory, to my friends. I am however, happy to concede to a worthy opponent.

Okay Okay back to Dojo stuff. The app features “Dojo Picks” – perfectly curated places and spaces also centred on the time of day. As well as different categories from restaurants to popups, markets, burgers, cocktails and date night. Choosing somewhere to go and what to do just got so much easier.

It featured a list of selected restaurants with yummy pancakes. With the Delaunay, The Breakfast Club, M1lk, Jackson & Rye making the top 10. I’d never heard of Jackson & Rye, so we decided to try it out

and with the help of maps linked to the app, we found ourselves at Jackson & Rye, Soho in no time

The restaurant was buzzing and had this southern american speakeasy vibe down to the ceiling fans

buttermilk chicken, shrimp and grits, cobbler, crab cakes, mac & cheese.. i was transported to the east coast and so excited, i wanted to order it all

and yes! we ordered it all.. well thats what it felt like

light and fluffy buttermilk pancakes with mashed bananas and maple syrup.

mashed banana and maple syrup – hmm interesting .. Maya likened it to ice-cream

DSC_0015

crispy crab cakes with a chill & radish slaw and a chipotle sauce

DSC_0013

mac & cheese –  this was pretty standard though however i have liked it less creamy and more cheesy.. There was a truffle mac & cheese on the menu, that might have been better

DSC_0014

the crispy squid rings were my favourite, I’m a crispy batter lover.. smother anything with batter and i’d definitely be a fan

I was dying to try the blueberry cobbler but my belly said otherwise, would save it for another day

Dojo rating – 71%, however i’d give it a 60% based on what i ordered

but Guys, you should so Download the Dojo app, its so great and I’m so so sure like me, you’d become a Dojo convert
