The pastry shop of dreams!
The London food scene got lucky when one of Paris’ best patisseries decided to open up its first shop in Marylebone
La Patisserie des Reves is owned by revered pastry chef and author Phillipe Conticini and hotelier Thiery Teyssier.
Continuing its bright pink exterior inside the shop, it is modern and sleek
“They’re encouraging us to daydream, take a trip down memory lane and experience the delight and excitement we felt as children.”
All the beautiful pastry is displayed under these UFO-like domes, it serves as the centre piece of the shop.
Very attracting i must say especially if its your first visit, yearning to discover whats hidden underneath
They also had little tasters of cakes and tarts – i think the staff noticed me perched over there for longer than i should
The Saint Honore – Cream, layers of puff and choux pastry and caramel
It looked so decadent and rich.. i couldn’t help myself but to take pictures of it from all angles
Seasonal fruits also inspire some of these little delights such as the Raspberry Tart
Chocolate Gran Cru decorated in edible gold!
little treats for the go
Even this pink box is chic
I was holding it proudly down the street like it was the latest Saint Laurent
The Paris Brest and St Honore look so yummy over at SimonEats
I got the Paris-Brest – made from a circle of individual choux pastry rounds representing a bicycle wheel, filled with liquid praline, it has a beautifully nutty taste.
“The store is an euphoric heaven and vision of desserts and art. Fresh contemporary gateauxs and cakes are a complete feast for the eyes, a Disneyland for baking enthusiasts and foodies” – ILoveCakeandTea
